The War to Produce Heroin

For 100 years, the government has been waging a war on drugs. President Nixon escalated the war and popularized the term in 1971. Stormtroopers have been kicking in doors, shooting grandmas, sticking guns in the faces of children, throwing bombs into babies’ cribs and shooting dogs ever since, ostensibly to reduce both supply and demand for illegal drugs.
If the government’s goal really was to reduce supply and demand of illegal drugs, there are no words to describe the magnitude of the failure of their stormtrooper approach. Last November, the Montgomery County coroner warned heroin deaths were on the rise. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine called heroin deaths in Ohio an epidemic despite all the bullets, bombs and jackboots targeted at the American people. DeWine promised to steal another million dollars a year from taxpayers to fund more invasions of grandmothers’ houses by paramilitary police. By January, Dewine had created a new heroin task force to solve the problem, but in March, heroin deaths hit a record high. In April, they were still on the rise.
Apologists always demand we give the government more time, as if 100 or 43 years, take your pick, hasn’t been long enough, but surely Dewine’s task force should have produced results by August. It didn’t. The Dayton Daily News reported in August, “Montgomery County coroners performed autopsies for suspected heroin overdoses on two area residents during the day Friday and were expecting another arrival that night, bringing the heroin death toll for the past week to 18, officials said.”
Granted, that was an exceptional week. Only three people died of heroin overdoses in Montgomery County the next weekend. The coroner called that a “good weekend.” I call it tragic. My heart breaks for the families of the victims.
Government’s stormtrooper approach can never succeed at achieving its proclaimed goal. Prohibition of alcohol failed. Repealing it dramatically reduced crime, violence and deaths. The same will happen when we end prohibition of all drugs.
And our rulers know this. Plutocrats, top politicians, and top bureaucrats aren’t stupid. They know their drug policies are killing Americans. They just don’t care. They profit from the pain caused by prohibition, so they continually ratchet it up.
Of course, they can’t let the American people know that. They always blame somebody else. Media has run a number of articles linking heroin to Mexico recently. For example, USA Today claimed: “Nearly all of the heroin fueling a U.S. resurgence enters the country over the 1,933-mile Mexico border, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.” The implication is clear: it’s the Mexicans’ fault. But this seemingly in-depth article lies by omission. It intentionally fails to inform 92 percent of the world’s opium, from which heroin is made, is produced in Afghanistan, encouraged by US policy.
Before the US invaded Afghanistan, the Taliban had virtually eradicated opium production. Our rulers, after invading Afghanistan, reinstituted it because US rulers benefit from opium and heroin trade. Global Research explains, “The multi-billion dollar laundering of drug profits supports the Western banking system and the world economy. As explained by Michael C. Ruppert in Crossing the Rubicon, ‘the CIA is Wall Street, and drug money is king’. Drug money, in Ruppert’s analysis, is the steroids of the financial world.” Under US rule, Afghanistan reported record opium production in 2013.
Illegal drugs are second only to oil in international trade value, and like oil, they are traded in dollars. Just like selling oil in dollars bolsters the world reserve status of the dollar, so does selling illegal drugs in dollars. Protecting the dollar is the number one priority of US foreign policy from the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria to Ukraine. Protecting the dollar is the reason the US is allied so tightly to Saudi Arabia and other totalitarian oil producers and against Iran.
Our rulers don’t want to stop the drug trade. They’re intentionally driving up prices and profits for illegal drugs so more suppliers produce them, flooding the streets with dangerously concentrated drugs to further reinforce the dollar. And they’ve been wildly successful. So while our rulers in Washington and Wall Street party on billions of ill-gotten drug gains, scores in Dayton and around the country are dying of heroin overdoses or having their doors kicked in by stormtroopers then being caged if they survive.
The war on drugs also highlights the hypocrisy of self-professed limited government conservatives. Government’s power to control what one puts in one’s body and to kick in doors, throw bombs and shoot people to enforce it is irreconcilable with limited government.
Ryan McMaken derides prohibitionists, “These are the same people who ask the ridiculous question: ‘Are you prepared to deal with the consequences of legalized cannabis?’ If by ‘consequences’ they mean fewer non-violent husbands, mothers, fathers, and teens rotting in government cages, then yes, I am prepared to deal with those ‘consequences.’”
It also means greatly reduced crime, violence and deaths. The same applies to all drugs. There was no heroin problem before opium was banned. There will be none after it’s decriminalized.

Governments Are Packed with Perverts

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden recently told The Guardian reporters that NSA agents pass around naked pictures of people they spy on like you. WebProNews provides the full quote:
“The reality of working in the intelligence community is that you see things that are deeply troubling – all the time. And it’s not just one person, it’s many of them.
“You’ve got young enlisted guys, 18 to 22 years old, they’ve suddenly been thrust into a position of extraordinary responsibility where they now have access to all of your private records. Now, in the course of their daily work, they stumble across something that is completely unrelated to their work in any sort of necessary sense.
“For example, an intimate nude photo of someone in a sexually compromising situation but they’re extremely attractive. So what do they do? They turn around in their chair and they show their coworker. And their coworker says ‘oh hey, that’s great – send that to Bill down the way.’
“And then Bill sends it to George, and George sends it to Tom, and sooner or later this person’s whole life has been seen by all of these other people.
“It’s never reported, nobody ever knows about it because the auditing of these systems is incredibly weak. The fact that your private images, records of your private life, records of your intimate moments, have been taken from your private communications from the intended recipient and given to the government without any specific authorization, without any specific need, is itself a violation of your rights.”
Generally being a pro-government propagandist organ, The Guardian calls this claim startling, but there’s nothing startling about it. If we had a dime for every time a politician or bureaucrat is caught using government’s power of coercion for sex, they would have to pay us money instead of stealing ours. It’s not surprising that people who are attracted to using government’s power of coercion over others to advance their personal interests, i.e. everybody in government, do it not only to advance their financial interests but their sexual interests as well. This is the real reason police departments like Dayton’s push so hard for spy cameras in every window and drones in every backyard.
The affinity for prostitutes by US troops and Secret Service agents has been documented to be nearly insatiable, but hiring prostitutes isn’t the problem. The use of coercion by government agents to get their sexual jollies damages their victims.
For example, 30 strippers have filed a lawsuit against San Diego police for abusing their power to license strippers. The Los Angeles Times documents, “The strippers were ‘nearly nude’ when their pictures were taken while officers made ‘arrogant and demeaning remarks’ and intimidated the strippers to keep them from leaving, the lawsuit alleges.”
As bad as this sounds, the response from the police makes it worse. The Times continues “Taking photographs of the employees, including of distinctive tattoos, is a routine part of the inspection process, [police spokesman] Mayer added. Inspections are meant to deter the employees from engaging in illegal acts.
“‘The San Diego code mandates we make these inspections,’ Mayer said. ‘This is not a criminal matter, this is a regulatory matter.’”
The police contend this sexual abuse is legal, and they have a case. It remains to be seen how strong of a case. The Times continues, “[The lawyer for the strippers] said that while the permit process does allow such inspections, police went overboard, detaining the dancers for more than an hour against their will ‘without probable cause’ and making them pose in various positions.”
This highlights the perverted conflicts government creates. In a free society nobody could force these women to pose for photographs against their will. But because the government claims the power of coercion, it legalizes sexual abuse, and the perverted enforcers it hires to carry out the abuse go beyond the law to satisfy their own perverse desires.
The Transportation Security Agency (TSA) is another government bureaucracy that legally sexually assaults victims, and their legalized crimes invite more of the same. CBS reports, “A San Francisco man suspected of having one too many drinks is accused of posing as a Transportation Security Administration agent and groped [sic] two unsuspecting women, both foreigners, in a private booth for security pat downs.”
What’s the difference who employs the molesters or if the victims are foreigners? The women are victims of molestation regardless. The TSA is a haven for molesters because it allows them to get their jollies legally, and this guy just short-circuited the hiring process. This incident shows TSA has nothing to do with security, only oppression. Agents, probably drunk themselves, can’t protect travelers from a guy in their midst, let alone a determined terrorist. TSA agents have never stopped a terrorist attack, and they constantly fail to detect weapons during tests, but they molest travelers with glee.
It’s sad how people promote government power out of fear from sexual assailants and other criminals, but they’re empowering criminals to commit their crimes without consequence as government agents.

Welcome Back to Sunny Iraq

President Obama finally got his wish: he dragged the US back into war in Iraq. Of course that isn’t what the president who promised “if you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it” says. The Associated Press quotes the president, “‘As commander in chief, I will not allow the United States to be dragged into fighting another war in Iraq,’ Obama said.”
But that’s exactly what he did. Every news report goes out of its way to pretend Obama is reluctant to go back to war in Iraq. This is another Big Lie that’s become the common narrative. CNN provides an example, “President Barack Obama's decision to authorize airstrikes escalated American military involvement in Iraq, a country he tried to get out of more than two years ago.”
But Obama didn’t try to get us out of Iraq. In 2011, while he crowed about getting us out of Iraq, he was quietly negotiating to extend the war. Stars and Stripes reported, “Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Friday that Iraq has agreed to negotiate an extension of noncombat U.S. forces there beyond 2011.” While the press characterized the forces the US wanted to leave behind as non-combat trainers, Stars and Stripes highlighted Panetta’s frustration was over not leaving combat troops, “‘We will fulfill the commitment that we are going to take all of the combat forces out of Iraq.’” Iraqis forced US combat troops out of Iraq on the deadline negotiated by Bush the Younger against Obama’s wishes.
The AP story explains Obama has to lie because Americans don’t want this war. “Mindful of the public's aversion to another lengthy war, Obama acknowledged that the prospect of a new round of U.S. military action would be a cause for concern among many Americans,” it continued.
Obama’s lies about his aspirations for extending the war in Iraq don’t stop there. In January, The The Chicago Tribune reported, “Pointedly, Secretary of State John Kerry, currently occupied in the Middle East fanning the embers of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, says there will be no American ‘boots on the ground’ in Iraq. ‘This is a fight that belongs to the Iraqis,’ he said Sunday. ‘We are not contemplating returning. We will help them in the fight, but this fight, in the end, they will have to win, and I am confident they can.’” The help Kerry alluded to was weapons and equipment including drones, but not fighter jets.
But now Obama has sent both fighter jets and boots on the ground. Besides the well publicized air strikes, Antiwar.com documented, “It hasn’t been so long since President Obama announced his intention to send ‘up to 300’ US troops to Iraq as ‘advisers,’ and the Pentagon now says there are 500 on the ground, with more coming. Only about 180 of the 500 are actually the ‘advisers,’ with other troops part of anti-terrorism security team, and still others manning the new Joint Operations Center in Baghdad.” As we learned in Vietnam, ‘advisers’ is code for combat troops. Obama is marching the US back into war in Iraq one step at a time.
And what goes unmentioned in every mainstream media story is the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants ravaging Iraq were funded, equipped and armed by the US when they were Syrian rebels. At first the CIA did this secretly, smuggling weapons from Libya through Turkey into Syria. That’s why the US ambassador was killed in Benghazi. Then Obama made arming them public. Now ISIS is using weapons given to them by the US in Syria to attack Iraqi and US forces in Iraq. Some say nothing is made in the USA any more, but this disastrous war was wholly made in Washington, D.C.
As bad as this sounds, it gets worse. The CIA and US special forces trained the Syrian rebels, some of whom joined ISIS in their invasion of Iraq. Last year The Daily Mail reported, “It is not known how many of the rebels have passed through the US base [in Jordan], but it is understood 20 to 45 at a time have been attending two-week courses since December – and are being trained with Russian-designed 14.5mm anti-tank rifles and 23mm anti-aircraft weapons.” Those are the weapons ISIS is now using against Americans.
Talk about blowback. Obama had US troops train and arm jihadists, and now he’s ordered US troops to fight them.
Worse yet, a leaked memo from private US intelligence company Stratfor claims that NATO special forces are secretly fighting alongside rebels in Syria. This creates the potential for US forces in Iraq to attack NATO forces fighting on the side of ISIS.
This insanity is a consequence of never-ending US wars. It’s a war profiteer’s dream. The US is arming and training both sides, so the war profiteers enjoy double the profit. It’s a formula for perpetual war and war profiteering. As with every government aggression, our rulers win and everybody else loses.

The US Disease Factory

Americans have been fooled into believing government and the health care system it controls prevents and cures diseases. Heck, the CDC’s full name is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, so it must be true. But the Health Wyze Report makes an important point: “While some practicing doctors may be honorable people who seek to help others, their schools, organizations, and governmental agencies are all controlled by pharmaceutical companies which have less noble intentions. It is best for them if diseases are treated, but never cured. The trend is unmistakable. How many decades has it been since any honest effort was made at developing a cure for any disease? Was it polio? How long ago was that?”
This isn’t limited to pharmaceutical companies. All health care providers profit from having return customers instead of actually curing patients, and since government limits competition by controlling who can enter this market and what treatments they can prescribe, government ensures curing disease doesn’t happen. Anybody who breaks from the system and dares to try to cure disease is attacked by the health care police of the Food and Drug Administration exemplified by the FDA’s 15 year war against Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski and his treatment of cancer.
Government doesn’t prevent or cure disease. It uses disease as a tool, making it more likely Americans will develop disease and never cure it.  President Obama recently made this crystal clear. In an attempt to save lives from the outbreak of incurable Ebola in Africa, African nations are isolating the infection zone to prevent the disease from spreading. European and Asian countries are taking steps to prevent the disease from reaching their countries. This is the sensible and compassionate thing to do.
But US rulers are neither sensible nor compassionate, so instead of trying to prevent Ebola from reaching the US, Obama is intentionally flying two infected American medical volunteers working with the organization Samaritan’s Purse from Liberia to Atlanta. For the first time, Ebola is coming to the US, increasing the risk of infection to us all, and we can thank government for that.
The experts tell us there’s nothing to worry about. The Los Angeles Times coos, “Emory University Hospital said it will house its two Ebola patients in a state-of-the-art isolation unit on the hospital campus. The facility, only one of four of its kind in the country, was built in collaboration with the CDC, and is separate from other patient areas. The unit is outfitted with equipment that provides ‘an extraordinarily high level’ of isolation and ensures that its doctors and staff are highly trained in treating Ebola patients, according to a statement from the hospital.”
To paraphrase, we should just trust the CDC. They’re the experts of experts.
But Bloomberg tells a different story. “And just hours before [the rescue plane] took off from Georgia, Tom Frieden, the CDC director, was talking with journalists and gave no hint of the impending action. To the contrary, Frieden stated that such an intervention might be unwise,” Bloomberg wrote. “‘There is the potential that the actual movement of the patient could do more harm than the benefit from more advanced supportive care outside of the country,’ he said. At the same time, he said the CDC would work with Samaritan’s Purse ‘to facilitate whatever option they wish to pursue.’”
Sensible and compassionate, even the CDC didn’t want to bring Ebola into the US. Too bad. You might think there’s little risk because the CDC knows all the techniques to contain the virus, but over 100 health care workers who use the same techniques have contracted the virus so far including the two Americans bringing it back.
You might think those doctors made mistakes, and the CDC, because they’re the experts of experts, won’t make mistakes. Recently history suggests otherwise. Dr. Mercola reports, “At some point between June 6 and June 13, an estimated 75-84 scientists and staff members at a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) biolab were exposed to live anthrax.
The live pathogen had been sent from another, higher-security facility, which failed to follow biosafety protocols.”
The supposed experts can’t protect their own employees, let alone the American people. And the mistakes don’t stop there. Mercola follows up, “Several weeks ago, scientists were shocked to discover a number of old, unapproved vials of the deadly smallpox virus in a ‘forgotten storage room’ on the National Institutes for Health (NIH) campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Now, they've reportedly uncovered a total of one dozen boxes containing nearly 330 vials of an array of pathogens, including dengue and spotted fever. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has the responsibility of overseeing the lab.”
The key to understanding this seeming insanity is recognizing the CDC is first and foremost a biological weapons factory. It doesn’t control or prevent disease. It weaponizes disease. Smallpox has long been eradicated in the wild, but US biological weapons scientists keep the deadly virus around as a weapon. No doubt the government is bringing Ebola to the CDC for military and political purposes, not compassion.

Summary Execution for Tax Evader

There are two and only two ways one can obtain the property of another. The first is through voluntary means. You can either exchange something for the property or the owner of the property can give it to you. The second is theft. If the theft includes the threat of violence backed by violence - coercion - it’s armed robbery. Taxes, because they carry the threat of violence backed by violence, are armed robbery.
New York City’s legalized and uniformed armed robbers - the police - recently summarily executed a man for not paying taxes. CrimeFileNews.com tells the story. “Selling cigarettes on the street cost a man his life. Think about it for a moment. Trying to make a meager living in a miserable economy by selling a legal product deserves death now in New York. That’s precisely what happened to an obviously overweight (350 lbs.) and unhealthy man last week. A squad of cops investigating this tax transgression approached Eric Garner. Garner actually begged the cops to leave him alone. Soon Garner began to shun the cops and resist being handcuffed and the cops piled on him.  All too quickly, Garner was dead.”
Some might claim the victim deserved it because he feebly resisted. But resisting armed robbery is heroic behavior, if sometimes a mistake. What this report doesn’t mention is one policeman put Garner in an illegal choke hold. Garner was trying to protect himself.
“This was not about anything more than the attempted evasion of an outrageous tax on a legal product that millions consume in America. Our greedy politicians expand their power and the government monster by overtaxing anything they can. We all know that this was about money rather than evil, violence or simple public safety.”
Besides proving the obvious - that taxes are armed robbery - this also illustrates that every supposed crime in America carries the death penalty. Jay walking? The state’s enforcers might kill you for that. Run a red light? They might kill you for that too. This is the inevitable consequence of empowering an organization - the state - to have a monopoly on violence and the power to legalize crimes committed by its agents.
The murderers may have had another motive. Police reportedly had harassed Garner for years. While they were harassing others for petty pseudo-crimes in order to legally steal their money, a fight broke out. The police did nothing, but Garner intervened and stopped the fight. That made him a target for government predators. When police began harassing Garner again, they claim Garner stated, “I’m tired of it. It stops today.”
William Norman Grigg quotes one police officer blaming the victim, “‘Anytime a person says “I’m tired of it, it stops today,” that will almost always end with the use of force,’ insisted one contributor to an LEO-exclusive forum. ‘He made that decision, not the police. The Police must effect the arrest and rise above any resistance...’” That attitude suggests this was premeditated murder from the moment Garner expressed his exasperation with being harassed by cops.
This attitude that anybody who says they don’t want to be harassed by policemen must be physically assaulted, subdued and even murdered is also an inevitable consequence of empowering an organization to legally commit crimes against people. The most violent, sadistic people in the country are attracted to the job of legally attacking others so they can get their jollies legally beating and killing people. Most people we make cops would be the worst criminals in a free society. For example, cops are three times more likely to commit murder, not counting the legalized murder they get away with on the job, than concealed carry permit holders. But in Bizzaro World, ruled by government violence, they become legalized violence-dealers, beating and killing people without consequence, and the ones who do it best rise to the top.
Apologists for choking the victim make this clear. “Because the victim reportedly didn’t suffer significant damage to his throat and trachea, the illegal restraint wasn’t a ‘true’ chokehold, or so the apologists insist,” Grigg writes. “Under NYPD guidelines in place since 1993, this isn’t relevant: The policy explicitly and categorically forbids the use of any restraint involving pressure against the neck or throat.” The policy is a sham, as is the law. Grigg notes, “If [the murder] statute were applied equitably, as it almost certainly will not be, [the officer who choked Garner] and his accomplices would be prosecuted for murder.”
Murray Rothbard wrote in “The Anatomy of the State”, “Having used force and violence to obtain its revenue, the State generally goes on to regulate and dictate the other actions of its individual subjects. One would think that simple observation of all States through history and over the globe would be proof enough of this assertion; but the miasma of myth has lain so long over State activity that elaboration is necessary.” The brazen murder of Eric Garner by state enforcers in daylight in front of witnesses and on camera is another example proving more elaboration is necessary.

The Manufactured Illegal Immigration Crisis

After Barack Obama was elected, his then Chief of Staff, now Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, stated, “You never want to let a serious crisis go to waste.” But rulers need not wait for a serious crises when they can manufacture one. Most Americans correctly identified President Obama and his minions are behind the surge of illegal immigrant children invading Texas and Arizona, manufacturing a crisis so Congress will pass amnesty, but that’s not the whole story.
The other half of the story is Republicans have been pushing for amnesty since 2000. Pat Buchanan recalls, “Speaking to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque in 2001, George W. Bush declared that, as Mexico was a friend and neighbor, ‘It’s so important for us to tear down our barriers and walls that might separate Mexico from the United States.’ Bush succeeded. And during his tenure, millions from Mexico exploited his magnanimity to violate our laws, trample upon our sovereignty, walk into our country, and remain here.”
The dominant theme of the coverage regarding the illegal immigration crisis is Obama and Democrats want to pass comprehensive immigration reform, which would include rewarding illegal immigrants with a path to citizenship - commonly called amnesty - but Republicans don’t. This isn’t true. Republicans want to pass the same thing, but the American people have threatened their jobs if they do. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was pushing amnesty when voters fired him in the May Republican primary. One report claims 144 Republicans supported immigration legislation until Cantor lost.
The only people resisting amnesty are the American people. Polls show Americans are overwhelmingly against amnesty, but that doesn’t stop House Republican bigwig Paul Ryan from pushing for it.
The reason Republicans support amnesty in the face of overwhelming opposition from the people is the Chamber of Commerce wants it. Politico reported, “The GOP shouldn’t even field a presidential candidate in 2016 unless Congress passes immigration reform this year, U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue said Monday.”
Republicans know the majority of Hispanics vote Democrat, and amnesty would boost the Democrat vote. That’s why Obama and Democrats are pushing for amnesty. But to Republicans, that political cost is worth it to satisfy their big business donors because special interests - economic oligarchs like the Chamber of Commerce - not the people, determine who wins elections. This crisis is manufactured to punish Republicans for deferring to the people.
High tech billionaires are among those pushing for comprehensive immigration reform so they can hire cheaper labor. The economic law of supply states the more there is of a good, the lower its price will be. Therefore the more immigrants who come to America, the lower the price of labor. And not just for unskilled workers. Some of those who come here will learn skills like programming, lowering the salaries of skilled workers too. Immigration reform would also increase the number of H-1B visas available so tech companies can hire skilled foreign workers, further suppressing the wages of skilled workers.
The Big Lie behind the immigration debate is the US has too few workers. Chronic high employment proves that’s not true.
Another lie is the US is suffering from a shortage of STEM workers. This lie is used to steal people’s money to fund STEM schools. The world’s richest hypocrite and college dropout Bill Gates says the US doesn’t produce enough skilled workers for high tech companies like Microsoft, yet Microsoft is laying off 18,000 workers. Computer World reports, “Electrical engineering jobs declined by 40,000 in the first quarter [2013], and the unemployment rate in the category rose to 6.5%, based on an analysis of U.S. Labor Data by the IEEE-USA.” National Review discovered wages for STEM workers are flat, and there are more graduates than jobs.  The reality is American workers, skilled and unskilled, are losing jobs to immigrants as our economy declines. These Big Lies are promoted by ultra-rich plutocrats like Bill Gates so they can make even more money while workers make even less.
Unfortunately, the advocates for amnesty have claimed the moral high ground, but that’s wrong too. Illegal immigration piggybacks on the illegal drug trade. Parents ship their children through Mexico, escorted by drug war coyotes who make $50,000 a week, as if they were shipping bales of marijuana. And the sudden influx has nothing to do with violence as we are told. They’re coming because our rulers, both parties, have told them they can stay.
Hans Hermann-Hoppe destroys the moral argument for amnesty. “The current situation in the United States and in Western Europe has nothing whatsoever to do with ‘free’ immigration, ” he writes. ”It is forced integration, plain and simple, and forced integration is the predictable outcome of democratic – one-man-one-vote – rule.”
Decriminalizing drugs would immediately stem the flood of illegal aliens by erasing the drug infrastructure and boosting economic growth in Central America, but as long as our rulers have the power to buy votes, they’ll push for immigrants to flood our country so they can buy their votes.

Beware the Sucker Economy

Yahoo trumpets, “The Dow Jones industrial average is trading above 17,000 for the first time after the U.S. government reported a big gain in hiring last month.” The stock market keeps rising forever with nary a glitch. To bulls, the unprecedented, positive run since the 2008 crash shows how wonderfully President Obama and the Federal Reserve [Fed] have managed the economy.
But critics say it’s too good to be true, and not just the usual critics. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is the central bank for central banks. Central banks are controlled by the apex plutocrats of their countries. The BIS is even more elite. Think of it as the Rothschilds’ and Rockefellers’ global plutocrat coordination system. The Boston Globe reports, “[The BIS] warned Sunday that dangerous new asset bubbles are forming, even before the global economy has finished recovering from the last round of financial excess.” This is a CYA announcement. Central bankers love high stock markets, but they don’t want to be accused of not noticing a bubble. When they warn of bubbles, they’re about to pop. Naturally, they don’t blame their counterfeiting of trillions for the problem.
The rest of the plutocrats already know about the bubble. MSN Money reports, “Of six major groups [Jeffrey Kleintop, chief market strategist at brokerage firm LPL Financial] identified, hedge funds, foreigners, insiders and investment institutions such as pension funds and insurance companies all are net sellers, he found.” Yet the market keeps rising because corporations are buying back their own stocks. This artificially increases stock prices, making it appear companies are growing when they’re not. This makes the stock option deals of senior management more lucrative even though their companies aren’t performing well. A cynic might conclude plutocrats are looting their companies to increase the value of their stock options so they can cash out before the impending crash. That will slow the next recovery.
This is the biggest sucker market ever, and MSN tells who the suckers are, “Only one other major group, individuals, is a net stock buyer now and individuals are buying less than corporations, Mr. Kleintop found.” Individuals are the suckers. Trapped into investing in the market because there’s nowhere else to make money on their savings because of the Fed’s zero interest rate policy, mom and pop investors are the suckers. Those who stay in the market will be wiped out.
Then there’s the housing bubble. Foreign investors are buying expensive real estate in New York City, driving up prices, and leaving it vacant to get rid of dollars before the dollar crashes. All those worthless pieces of paper the Fed has printed are coming home to roost. Ellen DeGeneres bought a Los Angeles mansion for $40 million and sold it six months later for $55 million.
Newly printed money always goes to the ultrarich first, but it eventually trickles down to provincial rich people. That’s why the sucker economy recently reached southwest Ohio. The Dayton Daily News reports, “The luxury home market continues to improve in the region, and a two-week show [in Liberty Twp.] highlighting high-priced homes offers ample evidence of that, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati.”
Rich people buying each other’s houses with the Fed’s bubble-money inflates prices, artificially increasing housing numbers to make it seem the housing market is improving, but the broader housing market is really still in decline. Similarly, Karen De Coster was the first to identify cupcake shops as a bubble activity, but the trendy New York cupcake chain Crumbs recently and suddenly went bankrupt. The word “trendy” frequently marks a bubble activity. The summer box office is down 20 percent in North America. US music sales are down 15 percent this year. There aren’t enough people flush with bubble-money to prop up markets for consumer goods though prices keep rising.
And despite the trillions printed and handed over to banks, they’re still insolvent. The New York Times reports, “... investors received a jolt on Thursday when shares of Portugal’s second-largest bank, Banco EspĂrito Santo, were suspended from trading, prompting fears that the bank might need to be rescued.” Individual European investors are suckers too. Meanwhile, the Fed considers charging exit fees from bond funds to mitigate the impending bond market crash.
But the biggest suckers are taxpayers. As the bubble economy expands, all rulers, including locals, are fooled in believing their plutocrat enrichment projects, funded with money stolen from taxpayers, spur economic growth, but they don’t. They’re part of the problem. When the bubble pops, most will be abandoned because it will become clear they’re unprofitable in the real economy. The resources expended - materials, capital and labor - will be lost forever, making us all poorer. Unemployment will soar. Only the skeletal remnants of projects, abandoned buildings - some abandoned in mid-construction - and rusting equipment, will remain. Austrian economists call that malinvestment. The damage is done during the credit boom. The bust is the correction, when the economy tries to return to serving consumers instead of rulers. We’ll soon get the terrible bill for our rulers’ unprecedented looting.
